how to install 18 WOS Haulin mods?

just add downloads to the MODS folder in My Documents/18 WOS Haulin/Mods

if you are new, i wouldnt advise you to add trailers, as you need to edit the .SSI files in Base.scs.

you should just download trucks, or maps or whatever, but if you add say 5 trucks (without editing the SSI file yourself) only 1 will show up in the game, whichever one is dominant i would say.

yeah, um.. how do you download ur maps ?

well, find the map on the web, ie rig n roll v4 map, then download it as you would, then just read the readme, copy the SCS files, and paste them into your mod folder, it will work.

okay, for you n00bs, here are the basics:

* you will need WinZIP, WinRAR or another archiving tool...

* create a folder on your desktop to store your downloaded mods...

* open your downloaded mods with your archiving tool and read the enclosed readme.txt file...in some cases, all you need to do is drag & drop the enclosed .scs file into your mod folder...in other cases, like standalone trucks and trailers, there is a process you must follow in order to get them ingame (see link below)...

* the mod folder is NOT a storage folder...it is ONLY for uncompressed .scs zipfiles (mods)...if you have a lot of crap in there that doesn't belong, the prism3d engine WILL crash your game...the mod folder is located in your My Documents 18WoS game folder...

* the prism3d engine WILL crash from time to time, due mainly to user error...when seeking help, it is important to post a copy of the log right after the crash, otherwise we can only guess as to the cause of the crash...the prism3d.log file is in your My Documents 18 WoS game folder...it opens in Notepad...copy it and paste it to a post...

here's a tute i wrote for installing standalones...it is for WinZIP, but if you have any brains at all, you will understand the concept and be able to convert it for use with WinRAR or other archiving tools...

the principles apply to both Haulin' and ALH, as they have the same file and folder structure...

THE FILE U DOWNLOAD TO PUT IN THE "MOD" FOLDER , U HAVE TO TAKE THE "SCS" FILE OUT OF THE FOLDER U DOWNLOADED , AND ONLY PUT THE "SCS" FILE IN THE "MOD" FOLDER,,,



it didnt work for me either when i put the "folder" i downloaded in the "mod" folder it would not work , BUT once i took the file out and only put it in the "mod" folder , it works like a champ ,,,
