Yes, it’s true. I turned 76 last month .
I’ve played this game from the beginning. For years, I’ve created some outstanding and unusual mods. Although, I preferred to do to my modding directly through the base.scs file as some are programming changes. I haven’t played in four years, so when I picked it up again and installed it on my latest computer, everything worked as before. I still had all my beautiful work which took years to create.
Of course, with every change, I made a backup of the base file and kept a list to go back on should something happen. For days now, things have run very smooth. I’ve yet to tamper with anything. Yesterday, I started to continue with my Campaign mode: 5 drivers and an honest $40 million. This time the game crashed (first time).
I looked in my Prism log, and found a long list of “dangling pointers” prevented things that wouldn’t mount. I’m stumped at what could have caused this.
My question: What, if any, thing could I do? Is there something I could repair this glitch with? The dangling pointers affect things like color, location, loads, etc. Everything else mounts well. I do have a newer disc, so maybe a new installation and fresh Prism. Very sad .
