Howdy yall.
My system is: Compaq Presario CQ62 (Laptop) OS: Windows 7 x64 Home Premium 2GB Ram 250GB Hard Drive 797.46MB Video RAM Video Device: Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family Driver Version: 8.15.10.2086 Resolution: 1366 x 768 x 59hertz
I have 18WOS Haulin'
I have mods for this game but I MUST have the Shader Quality at Minimum: Safe fallback shaders, if I don't.... My system lags every few frames because all the mods are high poly.
I noticed the the renderer for the game is OpenGL, My system performs excellent with DirectX but not with OpenGL. I was wonderin if there is a way to change the renderer to DirectX instead of using OpenGL.
If there is noway, is there any other option that I could do. I cant upgrade the graphics because its a laptop.
Please anyone, I would be greatful if this issue could be solved...
THANK YOU, DIXIELEE

Your gonna wana bring down your resolution to a different setting. OR, you can go and get a better video card because I believe that's the stock one that came with your computer. Another reason is because your labtop has Windows 7.

Windows 7 does not have anything to do with it. They are making new Windows versions all the time and the same drivers work with all of them, plenty of people run Win7, like me.
Your problem is always going to be your video card, which in your case is the Intel card. Intel makes a great card, just not for gaming. My laptop runs both an Intel and an NVidia card. Intel sucks when it comes to anything that uses high FPS, so you are never going to get good quality out of any Simulator. The bad part is, being a laptop there is nothing you can do about it. Laptops have their video card connected with their motherboard, so the only way to change that is by completely changing the motherboard. So to wrap this up, there is honestly nothing you can do with your laptop to make the game perform or look better.

Well thank yall for the comments. I dont have any money and I bought this laptop for just under $400 for Walmart when I took my truck to the crusher because the motor locked up.
Yall answered the hardware problem but what bout changin the renderer from OpenGL to DirectX? I know the renderer can be changed in "Hard Truck 18 Wheels of Steel" in the Config Box and I know it dont show in the Config Box of any of the others cept for "18 Wheels of Steel: Pedal To The Metal" while in the game. But what bout 18 WOS Hualin, is there a file I can alter that will work?
Let me know please, thank you again
Sincerely, DIXIELEE

As far as I know Haulin is OpenGL only, but you still need DirectX to run it.
