I assume there's nothing useful can be done about the way the engine sounds volume varies when, for example, you switch from view 1 to view 2 then back?
The sound level seems to be more or less random every time it changes...
Can't say I noticed it in ALH, so maybe it's a bug that was fixed?

ya know, one day all the idiots who trash-talk ALH will come to realize that they SHOULD be down on Haulin' for being released TOO SOON...turns out that Haulin' was actually the beta version of ALH, but these "geniuses" who hate ALH are simply too frickin' stupid to realize that...or too embarrassed to admit they spent all their energy modding a beta version...LOL

Showed a lack of appreciation of how much has changed under the hood, I thought. What I miss compared to ETS (which SCS admit is a limited game on a low budget) is that neither Haulin' nor ALH have any kind of campaign structure. In ETS you have goals to meet, like visiting a number of cities, making a number of undamaged deliveries, etc., and this makes it a better game to play. However Haulin'/ALH have a lot more map to explore, and more variety of trucks.

i play both Haulin' and ALH regularly...i use the exact same sound files and textures for both games...when i exit Haulin' and start up ALH, using the same volume and graphics settings, the difference in quality is remarkable...it is then that one notices that the graphics and sounds in ALH are far superior to Haulin'...

I agree with phantom. Although I don't have alh I did play the demo and the permormance is better than haulin but I don't have ALH is because when I bought Haulin' ALH came out like a month later. I think the reason people like Haulin better is because of all of the mods that are for it. Thats just my two cents.

Yeah, although there are getting to be more mods for ALH too.
There's also the point that ALH, more or less, is Haulin' but with the some of the bugs removed and a better 3D engine - so there's no new gameplay to speak of (a few more cities, is all) and you have to pay again. It's a bit like Railroad Tycoon 3, which came out with much more eyecandy, but very little new content compared to RT2.
ETS, by contrast, is on much the same engine as ALH but, although it has fewer trucks and a more limited map, and doesn't have the bit about hiring other drivers, it's a better game as it has the campaign thing where you get to gain awards (e.g. for delivering to more than 10 cities) and also there are 5 levels of gamplay to work through: to become "master" you have to deliver to all the cities and all the countries on the map, among other things.

i like the textures better in ETS, too...Turtool sent them to me in email a while back and i use them in Haulin' and ALH now...
as far as the campaigns go, i just make up my own scenerios with Haulin' and ALH, usually related to whichever trailer i'm using at the time...
